Diana Erb, Artist-in-Residence
Art Space at Kitchener-Waterloo Access-Ability!
ART SPACE is an equal access art education programme offered by K-W Access Ability
designed and instructed by Diana Erb (artist and community art programmer).
This creative space is a place for the development of artistic skills and
a forum for dialogue and community building.
Goals
- To provide a forum for artistic expression, dialogue and growth
- To expand individual visual vocabulary, expression, and reflection
- To aid in the realization of each individual’s unique
artistic potential through a variety of comprehensible art forms
- To use art as a tool for community building while fostering skills
in visual representation, and in the visual language of art
- To engage participants intellectually and creatively in the act of learning through art
The Art Class
The class takes place at K-W Access Ability every Thursday,
offering one session in the morning (9:30-12:00) and one in the afternoon (1:00-3:30).
At the end of each 12-week term we will celebrate our artistic achievements with a viewing and reception.
The classes are focused on the process and study of art and art making,
but maintain an invitation for dialogue and collaborative learning.
Through painting, drawing, mixed media, and many more art forms,
participants will have the opportunity to exercise their creative spirit and hone their skills.

Art is a visual and temporal language, which we are fortunate enough

It unites people and gives them a voice."
