P.H.I.R.S.T LINK Computer Programme
P.H.I.R.S.T. LINK is a programme of Kitchener-Waterloo Access-Ability. providing persons with physical disabilities computer instruction, technical support and consumer advice.
As your 1st LINK for accessible computer technology, we offer individualized computer instruction in the areas of word processing, internet navigation and communications, spreadsheets, database programs, graphics and operating systems.
K-W Access-Ability members enjoy no cost at home internet access.
Training in a wide variety of assistive devices such as screen readers, screen enlargement systems, switch input devices, or alternate keyboards is also provided.The duration of the training period and the length of the training sessions are individually established at the time of the initial assessment. Independent course work materials are provided for the student in order to reinforce the training.
Through the Assistive Devices Programme, training sessions in the areas of computer operation and assistive devices are available on an individual basis in the client's home.

- On-line Support
- System Configuration
- Equipment Rental
- Minor Repairs
- Workstation Set-Up
Consumer advice on assistive devices, computer hardware, software and other related topics may be provided in the form of a written summation that contains price quotes, comments and recommendations.
