Volunteer Opportunities

  • Bus Drivers are needed to drive our wheelchair accessible 10 passenger bus. Open up the world beyond Kitchener-Waterloo for people who require accessible transportation. The bus is also loaned to community groups requiring wheelchair accessible transportation for their out-of-town plans. Volunteers must possess a valid F-Class Driver's License.
  • The "Summer Arts" Drama Group. Calling all Thespians to work with group members, learning about drama exercises and techniques. Goal to produce short play or video. "It's more than Acting, it's Interacting!"

    Dance Group. Join this group that likes to move creatively to a beat for exercise and social opportunities.

    Karaoke Madness. In between evenings of dancing and drama, we have a group that likes to get together and Rock.
  • Crafts. Friday 2-4 p.m. To assist group to explore new artistic possibilities. If you are creative and like having fun, our group wants you. Location - 105 University Ave. East. Waterloo.
  • P.H.I.R.S.T. (Physically Handicapped Information Services on Technology) LINK. Provides an opportunity for physically disabled people to gain "hands on" experience with computers through individual tutoring. We need tutors to provide instruction in computer application software. Time flexible, days or some evenings.
  • Teachers. Our computer programme requires people to assist in teaching the following skills on computer systems: Spelling, Reading Comprehension, Mathematics, Letter Writing. Days only.
  • Computer Programme. This programme is developing a community network for equipment donations. The machines are tested, refurbished and redistributed. Volunteers with hardware experience are needed to test and refurbish machines and to assist with home set up, and to provide instruction.
  • Hockey. To work in the establishment and development of the National Electric Wheelchair Hockey League through organizational networking and exhibition games.
