Mentor Programme
Our agency is uniquely positioned to offer a Mentor Programme for youth with physical disabilities. We bring an established relationship with the world of adults with physical disabilities and a historical relationship with groups serving youth with physical disabilities. Our grass roots approach to community development has garnered the support of parents and organizations serving youth with disabilities and there is an air excitement within the adult disability community regarding this opportunity to impact the younger generation. We believe that we can best serve adults with physical disabilities by bringing the knowledge and experience we have gained over 30 years to the world of young people with physical disabilities. About the Mentor Programme... The K-W Access-Ability Mentor Programme matches youth with physical disabilities to adults with physical disabilities in a one-on-one mentor relationship within the communities of Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge and the Townships of Wellesley, Wilmot and Woolwich. An advisory committee representing various community partners and programme stakeholders provides support to the programme in its ongoing development and evaluation, and acts as a conduit between the programme and the community.
If you are an adult with a disability, a teen with a disability, or a family member, please contact Chris Hodnett to learn how you can be involved.
