P.H.I.R.S.T. LINK Training and Support


Daily or weekly training sessions, in the areas of computer operation and assistive devices, is available on an individualized basis in the client's home, on the work site, and/or at P.H.I.R.S.T. LINK. Word processing, communications, spreadsheet and database programs, operating systems and programming are possible topics covered in training sessions. Training, in a wide variety of assistive devices such as screen readers, screen enlargement systems, switch input devices, or alternative keyboards is also provided. The duration of the training period and length of daily sessions are individually established at the time of the initial assessment. The maximum session duration for one to one training is 5 hours a day. Independent course work materials are provided to the student in order to reinforce the training. The fee for on-site training is $50.00 an hour. In-house training $40.00 an hour.
